Orchard - Fashion Steps Out 2014

For an hour, traffic was stopped for a glamorous fashion show right in the heart of Singapore's very own Shopping Capital - Orchard Road.

It all started with the Champagne Sun-downer right in front of Ion Orchard where invited guests were sweltering from the unforgiving heat and in the words of a friend - "punished by standing for 2 hours if you had arrived promptly at 6.30pm as stated on the invitation."

All jest aside, it was a pretty nice experience and if it hadn't been so hot, it would definitely have been a great starter for the main event of the night.

Being a Champagne sun-downer, the supply of champagne certainly was kept flowing and at approximately 8pm, guests were ushered down the same stretch of road where 150 models will be strutting the latest fashion from 9 participating brands.

Aimer, Ashley Isham London, DAVID KOMA, DEPRESSION, i.t Labels Singapore, Manish Arora, MAX&Co., Robinsons and The Reckless Shop.

Finally, after a short wait for all the guests to be seated, the main event started. The only hitch and probably most unprofessional part of the event would be the timing and "rushing" from the organizers I supposed.

We were quite fortunate or unfortunate to hear the organizers rushing the models at a certain point to walk faster and there was a lull period where it was apparent that the models in front had walked too fast due to the "rushing" from the staffs. All done in front of invited guests whom were trying to get their photographs and at the same time, appreciate the fashion on display.

Regardless, considering the scale of the event (or perhaps the Champagne helped), it was pretty decently completed.

An after-party with more indulgent canapes and drinks hosted at Top shop / Top Man located at Grand Park Hotel (Orchard) completed the night in a very fashionable manner.
