Oh Alvivi.

No wonder I have been getting quite a lot of blog hits lately on the Alvivi posts.

Apparently, Alvin Tan Jye Yee, 25, and Vivian Lee May Ling, 24 are now getting charged under 3 laws namely the Sedition Act, the Film Censorship Act, and the Penal Code for the following:

 Credits for Photo: http://blog.cripperz.sg

1) Posting a picture on facebook of them eating bak kut teh, or pork rib soup, with the words "Selamat Berbuka Puasa" (Happy Breaking Fast) and a "halal" logo. They also described the food as
fragrant, delicious and appetizing.

2) Sex video clips they posted online last year on their Youtube Channel

An apology was made by them for the facebook posting above but apparently the damage has been done and their facebook page has also been taken down.

The above information is from the article here: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/this_urban_jungle/1886872/malaysian_sex_bloggers_will_go_to_police_with_their_lawyers.html

Argh...can anyone spell stupidity in a better manner? Are they really mid-twenties?

Feels like they are still in the rebellious stage and taking the law too lightly for even thinking that they won't get into trouble just because it's digital, it's a joke, it's their lives.

Well for all the people who are hiding behind your computer and internet freedom, don't get too complacent just because you have ever gotten away with a "joke" or two.

There is always a possibility that the authorities will decide to clamp down on such stuff.

Update: Both Alvin and Vivian are released on 30,000 RM bail after spending some time in separate prisons. Alvin seems to be still smug but Vivian probably doesn't relish that experience at all.
